Superintendent's Welcome

Welcome to Bennington Public Schools! Bennington has a long and proud tradition of providing a first-class education, winning activities, and putting students first in all decision-making.  With five elementary schools, two middle schools, and Bennington High School, our district offers a comprehensive PK-12 educational journey for all students.
Last year, Bennington demographics consist of 3,943 students with 10.40% on free/reduced lunch, 14.60% in special education, 16.17% qualifying as high ability, and 1.42% as English Language Learners.  The students were served by 301 certified staff members, 124 non-certified staff members, and 14 administrators employed by the district. Through the partnerships and hard-work of these students, staff members, and active stakeholders, Bennington Public Schools was able to achieve unparcelled student success including averaging scores 20.3% higher on the state NSCAS test than the state average. In addition, the junior cumulative ACT scores at BPS were 21.6%, compared to the state average of 19.4%.  These academic achievements are some of the best in the entire state of Nebraska!
Many of BPS successes are due to the incredibly vibrant community of Bennington. The vision of excellence is built on the collective efforts of our community, providing the necessary resources to shape the future leaders of our society. The community support is evident by the active Parent Teacher Organizations (PTO), school foundation, multiple booster clubs, youth activity organizations, and partnerships with city and county officials. Couple these amazing community organizations with engaged and caring parents, it truly makes BPS a special place for all students.
Bennington has a broad curriculum that includes quality STEM Education, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, dual credit opportunities, career education opportunities, and a general education that is second-to-none.
Please spend some time on our website reviewing all that BPS has to offer. Each tab will provide you more information on student achievement, school improvement initiatives, staff, annual reports, activities, and much more.
