Dr. Aaron Plas Selected as the New Superintendent of Schools
The Bennington Board of Education has been working diligently to hire a new superintendent. Hiring a superintendent is one of the most important responsibilities a board must fulfill. The Nebraska Association of School Boards (NASB) has been assisting the board in the superintendent search.
The Board completed interviews with the four finalists this week. After the interviews were completed on Wednesday, March 8th, the Board voted unanimously to negotiate with Dr. Aaron Plas for the position of Superintendent of Schools.
The Superintendent interview process included meetings with groups from the community, staff and administration, in addition to a formal interview with the Board. The Board wishes to thank the interview groups for their time and input throughout the process.
Dr. Plas is currently the Superintendent at Lakeview Community Schools in Columbus, NE and has served as the superintendent since 2016. Prior to Lakeview, he served as Assistant Principal/Activities Director at York Public Schools. Dr. Plas received his Doctorate of Education in Educational Administration from the University of South Dakota in 2016.
