Board of Education Update

Special Board of Education Meeting

There is a Special Board of Education meeting on Monday, August 25th at 5:00 p.m. at the District Office. This meeting is for the Board to vote on end of year bills. This meeting is open to the public and will be streamed live through the District YouTube channel.

Board of Education Retreat

There is a Board of Education retreat on Monday, August 25th at 5:15 p.m. at the District Office. This meeting is for the Board to discuss the District strategic plan.

Next Regular Board of Education Meeting

The next regular Board of Education meeting will be on September 8, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., at the District Office. All meetings are open to the public. Regular meetings are streamed live through YouTube and viewable on the District website. Special meetings, where there are action items on the agenda, will also be streamed live. Agendas for Board of Education meetings are posted on the district website the Friday before each meeting. Click here to view agendas and minutes.

Safety and Security Update

Safe2Help Program Available in BPS

Please see the information below in regard to a program Bennington Public Schools provides to all students, staff and community members. We will be in communication with students in Bennington, making them aware of what Safe2Help is and how they go about using it if needed.

Safe2Help Website, App and Hotline 833-980-SAFE (7233), is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Struggling with depression, anxiety, drug and alcohol abuse, bullying or anything else – reach out day/night and speak to a trained crisis counselor.

Parents/Caregivers, Staff and Community Members can also use the Safe2Help hotline to report unsafe behavior. Safe2Help is a partnership with Boys Town National Hotline. For more information, including how to reach a counselor through email, chat or text, go to www.Safe2HelpNE.org

We all want school to be a safe place. You play an important role in this effort.

You can make a positive difference by reporting concerns about dangerous or troubling behavior. For emergency situations, immediately call for help.

Student Accident Insurance Available

Families have the option to purchase accident insurance for their student(s) through Student Assurance Services Inc. This is an optional program and is not required of students or athletes.

What is Student Accident Insurance?
  • Coverage that provides financial assistance with your out-of-pocket medical expenses when your student sustains an accidental bodily injury.

Community Youth Actvities

Bennington Community Theatre

We are excited to offer an opportunity for students who will be in grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th in the fall of 2025. We are offering a workshop as part of our "Acting Up" series titled "Tools of an Actor!" 

Registration is officially open to the public and SPOTS ARE LIMITED and will be taken on a first come first serve basis!


The Bennington Community Theatre is driven towards creating and implementing cultural and educational activities for the public benefit by providing theatrical arts opportunities for community participation.

Join us at Chalco Hills Recreation Area on Saturday, September 6th from 12-4pm for World O! Water!

World O! Water is a FREE educational event with interactive activities. Enjoy hands-on water conservation experiences, explore recreational activities, and celebrate our community's valuable resource!

Cub Scout Pack 13 is for Boys & Girls in Grades K-5
  • The Pack is made up of 6 Dens (1 for each grade)
  • There is usually 1 Pack activity (on Saturday afternoons) and 2 Den activities per month.

Cost: Pay $150 in dues, plus sell a minimum of $300 in popcorn for 1st-5th graders.
