2025 Bond Issue - High School #2

The 2025 bond issue was approved by 71% of voters in a special mail-in election on March 11, 2025. This $112 million bond issue will fund the construction of a second high school, ensuring space for the increasing number of students in Bennington Public Schools. The new high school is planned to open for the 2028-29 school year, serving the current 5th-8th grade students.

Scope of the Project

  • Location: 180th Street and Military Road

    Intrastructure: Paving the gravel road on 180th street. The northern section of the property will not be developed.

    Timeline: Open for the 2028-29 school year 

  • The second high school will be built for a capacity of 1,000 students with the capability to expand to 1,500 students.
