Arrival and Dismissal Starting on Monday

Monday, Monday, Monday! Parents are asked to follow these helpful guidelines to make sure all students can arrive safely at school. Having completed the first few days of school, we will now shift the drop-off and pick-up procedures for the remainder of the school year.

Car Drop-off/Pick-up Lane (always stay in your car)
  • If using the car drop off lane, allow your child to exit the car on the SIDEWALK side, the right side of the car, as you drop off. We have a lane to the left for cars to pull through and we do not want children getting out of the car on this side.
  • At dismissal, stay in your car and continue to pull forward to allow cars to fill in the empty spaces. Once you pick up your child, you can exit the pick up lane and use the left lane to safely and slowly exit.

Bus/Daycare
  • These students will enter the south doors in the bus loop area.

Park and Walk Child to Cross Walk
  • If you choose to park and walk your child up use the CROSSWALKS and do not cross where traffic is moving. Allow staff to help your child to cross.
  • Only students and staff are allowed on the sidewalks in the front of the building. Too many people in this area can create congestion and makes it hard for our students to move safely to their lines.

For dismissal, students who will be a car line rider, bus/daycare rider, parent pick up, or a walker.

  • Walker: Students who are walkers are dismissed between 3:03-3:07. These are students who walk to and from home or are picked up along HWS Cleveland Blvd or in the neighborhood. These families should not come on school grounds as we move all walkers to the exit area and use the crosswalk on HWS Cleveland.
  • Car Riders: These students are dismissed at 3:07. They will walk out with the teacher and be dismissed from their morning line up areas. Please pull all of the way up to the bike racks or fill in the spaces as cars leave. Do not get out of your car.
  • Parent Pick up (Parents who park and walk to Anchor Pointe Island - the area across from the entrance by the crosswalk): These are parents who choose to park in the spaces and walk to the area between the two parking lots. We ask that parents not cross over the area in front of the building. Our safety patrol will assist with crossing all children.
  • Bus/Daycare: These are students who leave school on a bus or with daycare. They are dismissed at 3:03.
Preschool Arrival and Dismissal

Preschool Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

Arrival:
Parents will enter from 168th and Whitmore Street and follow the road west to the south side of Anchor Pointe Elementary, where the preschool is located. You’ll see a bus loop in front of the preschool—this area is reserved for district bus transportation and local daycare vans only.
Parents dropping off preschool students should park in a designated parking spot and walk their child to the doors labeled Anchor Pointe Preschool.

Dismissal:
Parents will again enter from 168th and Whitmore Street and head west into the Anchor Pointe parking lot on the south side of the building. Please do not park in the bus loop, as it is reserved for district and daycare transportation only. Parents should park in a designated spot and walk to the front preschool doors to wait while teachers escort students out for dismissal.

Additional communication regarding arrival and dismissal procedures may be shared by your child’s classroom teacher or building administration.

Thank you for making safety a priority during arrival and dismissal at Anchor Pointe Elementary.
