What if the Bond Issue Doesn't Pass

  • Continued overcrowding at the high school will create a larger student to teacher classroom ratio.
  • The possibility of decreased academic opportunities in elective and CTE courses to accommodate core classes.
    • Less opportunities to students
  • The possibility of decreased opportunities for students in activities and athletics.
    • Larger Number of Students Being Cut from Teams and Activities
    • 82% Participation in 2017, 68% Participation in 2023
      • Estimated 57% Participation in 2027 with One Class A School
      • Estimated 78% Participation in 2027 with Two Class B Schools
  • The District would need to add modulars in the North parking lot at Bennington High School.
    • Limitations to this plan:
      •  Common areas or Specials that can’t be in a modular such as:
        • Lunch (Kitchen)
        • P.E.
        • FCS
        • CTE Courses
        • Science Labs
    • Potential issues of using modulars:
      • May need to pave the north practice field for parking
      • Safety and security of students and teachers in the modulars
      • Teacher retention and recruitment
