The English Learner Program (EL) works to identify and evaluate students with limited English proficiency appropriately. The process begins when registration is complete. District personnel will contact the parent/guardian if the child has limited English proficiency. The EL Teacher will administer an assessment to determine eligibility based on the assessment results. Areas assessed include listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Appropriate instruction for English learners is then determined based on qualification. Progress is monitored through the use of assessments to assess language proficiency.
Don't hesitate to contact the Student Services department if you have further questions.
