Scope of the Project

The 2024 School Bond Issue will serve our current and future student population by building a second high school to accommodate the number of students that are currently in Bennington Public Schools. If the bond issue passes, the second high school is planned to open for the 2027-28 school year and would serve the current 5th-8th grade students.

The second high school will be located off of 180th Street and Military Road. The school will be built with a capacity for 1,000 students with the capability to add additional classrooms and increase the capacity to 1,500.

Expanding Career & Technical Education

The District follows the Nebraska Department of Education Career and Technical Education (CTE) model. Within this model there are six broad career fields. Within each field, possible career fields are separated into career clusters. The District is planning to expand CTE course offerings with the opening of the 2nd high school. More programming partnerships continue to be explored.

Students will be given the option to go to either high school for CTE courses.
