Covid

What to do if you have a positive COVID-19 individual in your house and how it affects your students (updated August 2022):

  1. If your child tests positive for Covid-19, please contact the school your child attends and provide proof of the positive test to ensure it is an excused absence
  2. The positive COVID-19 case needs to isolate for five (5) days from the date of the positive test or the date of symptom onset, which counts as day 0 (zero)
  3. The positive individual may return to school after Day 5, and it is recommended to wear a mask through Day 10 but is not required to
  4. Your child's school building will be able to assist you with navigating return dates and completing school work during these times.
  5. Household individuals of the positive case are still allowed to come to school, masking is recommended, and please monitor for symptoms

School Protocols: The district will no longer have a dashboard updated for the community nor will schools contact families of each positive case. If the district feels an outbreak or unique situation arises with positive cases, the district will consult with the Douglas County Health Department upon request.

Proactive Measures: Individuals of all ages have the opportunity to receive the Covid-19 Vaccination and/or Booster. Please reach out to your healthcare provider for more information.

At Home Tests: You may request a Covid-19 at-home test from the health office at your child’s school building. DCHD has provided us with several tests for families to utilize, they expire in January of 2023.
